Sing Norfolk is the web home for the Norfolk Community Choirs Network.
Who are we?
We are a group of singers and choir leaders who have established a network in support of community choirs in Norfolk.
What do we do?
We organised our first Choir Fest in January 2015, which brought together 165 singers from 9 community choirs for a day of song-sharing, socialising and celebrating our love of singing together and we’ve been going from strength to strength ever since! 2019 will be the 5th Norfolk Community Choir Festival with Northern Harmony from the USA joining us to run a workshop.
What’s a community choir?
We define a community choir as a choir that welcomes all voices without audition, and where music is taught in an accessible way, without a requirement to read music.
What happens at the Choir Festival?
The day includes fabulous workshops and short performances from the choirs who want to take part.
What else does the network do?
– We promote co-operation for mutual support between choirs
– We share and enrich wider community life through planning and organising joint events
– We encourage and facilitate personal creativity through the shared experience of singing together
Fancy helping out?
We are a friendly organising team who meet about three times a year in Dereham to plan our events. If you like organising, singing and having fun, we’d love to hear from you. Please use the form on the Contact us page.
